I actually thought that ship WAS canon before I played[/read/whatever verb you use for VNs] F/SN. I shipped it hardcore until I found out Archer's... uh... identity. I still ship it, but just not quite as much because I sort of hate his identity.

If I disliked Archer simply on principle, this would work, but unfortunately as much as I want to like Archer and as much as I used to like him, I can't help feeling his character is sort of ruined by youknowwho.

Archer is pretty much Shirou, who realised that he was the worst character/person ever and decided to change for the better.
