Re: COMPLETELY SERIOUS QUESTIONS

No. Scott is not disabled at all. I like to think of him as the very typical jock/frat boy cliche. He's not a scholar and is occasionally slow on the uptake.

Scott just doesn't happen to be people's favorite character and some parts of the fandom find this upsetting. The potato thing is really really stupid in fandom - but I haven't seen one of the big shippers mean it maliciously or in an ableist fashion. The first commenter is just stirring shit up.

I dunno, man. Tumblr uses "potato" pretty harshly.

Its precious that SJW fans ate so concerned about "potato," a slur based on an obscure internet meme, but could care less about the constant use of "spazz" and "spastic" in regards to the white best friend.

I didn't know they called Stiles such things, I generally gloss over posts about him. I should pay more attention, and I'll call it out whenever I see it. I'm sorry.

I feel that much of fandom uses slurs like "spaz" and "spastic" because they think he has ADHD - something that isn't even confirmed on the show, and an assumption that leads to gross language and even more gross behaviour.

I like to think of him as the very typical jock/frat boy cliche.

He would be if that was all he was. But then he was turned into a werewolf, so...

Seriously, all the characters are cliched tropes, and intentionally so, because it's on MTV. The creators know who butters their bread, honey, and they pander to cliches every day.

but I haven't seen one of the big shippers mean it maliciously or in an ableist fashion. The first commenter is just stirring shit up.

NTAYRT but what does it matter who says it, whether it's a 'big shipper'? Is that supposed to make it less offensive that only 1000 non-BNF's are using it daily? I guess that's acceptable then?
