(da) SPN fandom is well-balanced between Wincest, D/C, and J2. If you want, you can burrow into one of the factions and have such a wealth of material that you'll never ever have to come out. In Teen Wolf, though? If you want to avoid Sterek, WHERE DO YOU GO?

This is exactly my experience. *a multishipper in both fandoms who drowns in sterek when looking for other fics*

I think that's one of the main problems with TW, actually. If you don't like Sterek, there's so little else out there. Granted, other pairings have been picking up speed lately, which is great, but the pickings are still pretty slim.

Preach it, bro/sis.

However, I do think it's probably because the show is relatively new. There's only two seasons out, and the fandom snowballed really quickly. As others have remarked, the Sterek backlash has already started - more and more people are shipping other things. By the time the show gets to S4 or something, I'm sure other pairings will grow enough to set up camp.
