Oh gods, only a week? Yeah, I'm participating. I'm doing a re-write of my '06 NaNo, with the intention of developing the world and characters more this time around. Naturally, I haven't actually done a shred of world-building or outlining or character sketching. I should be doing that now, but I'm participating in a fic fest with a due date of November 1st, and my story's maybe half done. Halp.

A girl trying to escape an organization she was raised in, as she has become one of the types of people they hunt. Mostly through a loop-hole. Urban fantasy/Supernatural.

This will be my first year trying it. I'm still not totally sure about the plot. Some type of "band of mismatched weirdos on a quest to do something that will stop the wars on their planet" kind of story, I think, but I still have a lot of outlining and worldbuilding to do.

I still haven't officially decided whether I'm going to start, since I've never actually done any writing outside of school before. (Unless you count the two pages of a Futurama/Kim Possible crossover I wrote on a plane a few years back.)

But if I do, I'm writing a story based off of a crazy dream I had, involving escaping from a group of evil psychics and breaking out of prison once the escape failed. So sci-fi-ish? But probably set in a fully alternate universe, since I want roughly modern-day tech, but with the addition of an established organization of psychics. Plus then I can fudge the whole researching a setting thing by not setting it anywhere real.

Never done it before and I will probably chicken out.

It'd probably be a sci-fi, post-apocalyptic, punk/western-type thing. It's an idea that's been knocking around in my brain for a few years, but it's bare-bones. Tbh, just outlining the story would take all month... seems like a next year kind of thing since I'm so unprepared.

I'm participating, but I'm writing a dozen fanfics instead of trying for something original. :) I figure three a week is a good enough challenge, so that's what I'm doing.

I'm still trying to convince myself to try it. If I do, the story will be one of those 'but thou must' type of fantasy stories. With lesbians.

arrgh i really wanted to participate but i don't know if i have it in me, i'm not so sure i can carry my selected plot for 50k words.

I haven't decided yet, but I might. If I do, I actually plan on writing a 'book' of short stories that's probably going to be urban fantasy and/or vanilla fiction.

I'm tossing some characters on a space ship and thinking Andre Norton-ish thoughts. I figure I'll start out with their medic retiring so they're picking up a newbie that's tired of civilized station hospitals and wants adventure and see what happens.
