Well, yeah, no. I wasn't planning to. Even if I was gonna use twenties slang, I figured that one would be taken to be like "pizza-face", which is not nice either.

Yeah, this is how I've heard it used too. Like, "Aw. She's got a cute pie face." (Though, the person I know who uses this term says 'moon pie face.') Never heard of any racist connotation until now.

it's funny, because in Ladino-speaking culture having a "moon face" for example means you're pretty.

Pie face as a slur kind of goes off the fact that Inuits/eskimos [it actually started as a racist term for them, then got applied to asians later] supposedly have flatter facial features with a round face, so their faces resembled a pie.
