I'm not going to take art tips from fiction because fiction say its a good tip. If I really want to try something out, I'll look into it and see what's the best way to use the tip. Like, I'm not so stupid as to ruin my watercolor painting just because some story said using gouache is a legitimate way to lighten darks and the gouache ended up messing with my color template.
