I think I accidentally started a trend.

A few weeks ago I used a nickname in a fic and now it's in every other fic I read.

It's possible it was used before I did, in a fic that was much more popular than mine, but I read widely and I'd never seen it.

That's so weird. Probably only a dozen people read my fic. I guess all it takes is for one popular writer to pick it up and then it catches on.
