Idk, I kind of thought what they did was more interesting than them having a talk. Like Melissa was in denial until it became a dire situation at which point she was helping Scott out because she's his mom. I saw it as an unspoken development.

This is my thought, too. They ignored it the big awkward elephant until they couldn't, and then there wasn't really time for a conversation about it. I imagine we'll get some moments between them in season three. It may not be "Son, let's sit down and share all our feelings while we converse for 30 minutes about your lycanthropy," but who would want to watch that?
