I assume you're referring the the "surprise!" factor that comes with a lot of mpreg. I do agree with you on this, it's pretty squicky, but it's some people's kink, both sexual and/or narrative that a person goes through something they Don't Want. I can even see specifically having to raise a child you never planned/wanted as a consequence of circumstance being some people's narrative kink. To each their own?

I'd find it super interesting if someone decided to do mpreg from the angle of a man who'd always wanted to carry a child (...for some reason) but had it confined to paternal-like fantasies that they were ashamed of.(Be careful what you wish for fic?) Or a trans woman, that could work. Someone who is biologically male and wanting to carry a child.
