Most reasonable people don't care, but you'd be surprised how many guys will give a girl 'cool' points for having comic book knowledge and would not be happy to hear it if the girl didn't really read that many comics.

Thiiiiiiiis. I once got really friendly with a couple of guys in a high school project group for making a crack about the Clone Saga. And more indirectly, I scored a date - and subsequently got laid - by wearing an arc reactor T-shirt.

Heh. For what it's worth, comics give me just about the only thing I can talk with to my coworkers. Granted, vehemently dissenting opinions regarding the Batman movie are why one coworker and I no longer speak socially...but it's not much of a loss.
