(Anonymous) 2012-10-28 02:17 am (UTC)(link)The reason I don't like/get SNSD is because they ping all of my horrid creepy expoitation of girlishness as a sexualized category feels. I really like all of the members I've encountered in other formats, and really enjoyed the TaeTiSeo promotions, but every time they show up in a full-group performance with, like, pigtails and short-shorts I get majorly creeped out.
Nothing on the girls themselves, everything to do with how SM promotes and styles them. Early Britney Spears freaked me out for exactly the same reason. (Which is super sad, because early SNSD was super cute, and then at some point it stopped being cute-cute and started being sexy-cute and I got majorly creeped out. Sigh.)
