You realize that children's opinions and morals are affected by the world they live in and that part of raising a child that isn't racist/sexist/homophobic ect. is helping them understand why those things are wrong?

But not allowing them to see WHY it's wrong is also not helping. Or letting them see it and then explain it.

Ignoring it that way by not letting them watch something doesn't make it go away or make them ~magically~ understand it's wrong.
