I prefer LA so much it's not even funny. I can't help it, I just find most of the "humor" in the original unfunny and nasty. I can't laugh at all that assholish, disrespectful, sexist behavior and downright bullying. Tony and especially Gibbs being the worst offenders. I can't even put my finger on it, but Gibbs is like nails on a chalkboard.

I can't stand Tony or Gibbs, either. Is the spin-off better?

Yes, it is, and I say this as someone who still mostly likes the original. I like the dynamics better on the LA show, I like the humor, and I think Hetty is way more of a badass than Gibbs -- largely because she doesn't need to walk around acting like a badass all the time.

The LA show does have one foolish man-child on the team; that would be Deeks. He's nothing like DiNozzo, though; his good heart is way more obvious, his posturing is more playful, and he has none of that horrible smugness of Tony's. Nobody does, on the LA team.

I'm surprised how small the NCIS:LA fanom is, actually. There's such potential for numerous ships and Hettie is so amazing, yet there's next to no fandom. It's a bit baffling to me.

I'm with you dude.

I prefer NCIS:LA over the original for two reasons the humor, but most of all because I like all of the characters, which is rare for me in general, but especially in crime shows.

(And despite a lot of terrorist plots I prefer the cases too)

Me too. I only stopped watching NCIS this season, but I don't miss it at all.

NCIS: LA is infinitely more fun to me. Which sucks, because I did love NCIS in the first couple of seasons. Eventually...I just got tired of it, too.

I loved the early seasons of NCIS too. But I've just gotten to the point where I don't really care about any of the characters anymore (except maybe Ducky). *shrugs* I did watch the season premiere, but I haven't watched anything since then.

I tried watching it when it first started, but I just couldn't. Rapman and Robin look like freaking Charlie’s Angels every time they bust through a door. They had cast bloat liek woah (could drop at least Newbie Guy (which they did), Den Mother, and Psych Guy and still have a decent show), and the plots sucked. Also, the theme music is really lame.

I adore the actor that plays Hetty - she was so awesome in 'The Year of Living Dangerously' - but the rest of the cast/show just doesn't do it for me.

I've stopped watching the other NCIS too, though. Tired of it.

I agree. The current season of NCIS has been pretty uneasy watching so far whereas all NCIS:LA stuff I've seen has been great :)
