Don't listen to 'em, Birdemic is a masterpiece to rival Hitchcock himself. It's a deep film, full of intricate plot turns and complex symbolism, drawing parallels to modern day vices in a way that gets its strong message across without becoming "preachy." Between jaw-dropping visuals and carefully crafted dialogue that is both witty and moving, I believe Birdemic can even surpass its predecessors, standing on the shoulders of giants such as The Birds and Citizen Kane.

Oh, absolutely. While the serious overall message of the movie is obvious to thoughtful viewers, everyone can enjoy Birdemic as a complex horror story to rival any "nature vs. humanity" film. I recommend it as something to watch when you are just hanging out, just hanging out with the family (or friends). It's a great discussion piece.

That movie creeps me out because it seems like everytime I watch it is when the birds are migrating and my yard + trees are full of different kinds of birds. :S Convenience or clever time scheduling?

Though I can totally understand how that would freak you out more than zombies, because it's a lot easier for me to believe that all the birds could go crazy than it is for me to believe that a sudden zombie outbreak could happen.

Anything involving existing-nature-things going bad scares me (unless it's The Happening lolol). Also anything involving a deadly virus outbreak is worse...because you'd watch the people around you die horribly and know you were next, and you'd be inadvertently killing the people you loved D:

Zombies? ...no. they are silly and overdone and idgaf. Whenever someone starts the "zombie apocalypse survival plan" conversation I automatically disregard anything they say for the next half an hour.

Right??? I just watched this for my October scary-movie fest--it's that we never get an explanation. DDD: And they're maliciously, deliberately trying to kill people. That is so fucked.

For some reason, we watched this film at a birthday party when I was, like, 10. I went in another room and played with the girl's toy horses until it was over.

And then I saw it later and regretted it DEEPLY. Fucking frightening.

(Also, I've been to Bodega Bay! It was an interesting experience, cautiously glancing at trees the whole time.)

ugh i can never tell if that movie is actually as scary as i think it is, or if its just because the first time i ever saw it, i was very young and by myself in the pitch black. like is it just the memory of how scared i was then or is it actually that frightening? same goes for psycho, really. to this day showers freak me out a bit.
