TL;DR, there's a shitty new friends list beta, LJ is convinced all entries with links have spam in them, and AO3 is no longer blacklisted on LJ.

Also mentioned in the comments but not in the entry: LJ will get rid of paid accounts next spring.

1) Added archiveofourown.org / ao3.org to the global spam whitelist to prevent misidentifying links to these domains as spam.

LJ is claiming they're not closing the accounts that people have already paid for or have permanently, but I assume at some point people won't be able to buy paid accounts as they stand now.

Update - no, they're making paid accounts into a sort of 'buy what you want' kind of option, like - all the paid account things will be a la carte so you can pick what you like and ignore what you don't.

Craziness. I keep saying I'm going to pay for an account over here because I miss having more icons. Might do that instead of renewing at LJ. Man.

They've clarified in a news post - they're going to make the paid account features sort of a la carte so you can choose what you want and ignore the rest.
