Well, the whole internet SJW movement bothers me quite a bit. I think a lot of times their intentions are good, but frankly every space they invade feels LESS safe because of them. Like, communities that have become so faux-PC that they attack anyone who uses words like "crazy" or "lame." Those terms apply to me, they apply to a lot of people, but it doesn't make me feel safe when people are going on and on about how terrible someone is for accidentally using those words.

IDGAF if someone says their work day was "crazy" or their new teacher is totally "lame" or their friend is a "moron." Those aren't fucking slurs. They shouldn't be treated like slurs. Freaking the fuck out over innocuous bs just takes away from the actual fight for equality. If you get just as mad over someone incorrectly using "psycho" as you do the n-word, there's a problem with your fucking priorities.

A lot of their rhetoric is really degrading towards the people they claim to fight for. And I hate the "racism is the same everywhere" mindset because its completely false AND white-centric. And because so many of these piece of shit SJWs are college-educated middle class white people, they completely overlook how classist a lot of their bs is.

Of course, I stopped identifying as a feminist a long time ago because of this sort of thing. Poor mixed-race queer women really don't have a place in most modern feminist spaces.

I'm a mixed, bisexual sex worker; I too felt very alienated in these spaces.

This comment pretty much sums up why I'm scared to say anything about anything on tumblr. Even things as simple as fandoms are SJ landmines that blow up if you let slip a word you had no idea was a slur (or isn't even a slur, but it is according to them), or "whitewash" a character because you didn't shade their skin in a sketch.

It's become difficult to participate in fandoms to relax and take a break from the real world and its problems when no matter how hard you try not to offend, people come along and screech (not to mention harass and threaten) at you for being offensive.

I saw a post that said this was the perfect gif to represent SJWs in fandom.

I really hate it when they try to police words like "lame" and "crazy." Especially when you see people who are disabled or have mental disorders telling SJWers off for doing so, and the SJWers (who are neither disabled or diagnosed with a mental disorder) respond telling them why they're wrong, and why these words are actually """harmful""" to them. As if their condescending, holier-than-thou schtick does no damage whatsoever. As if those words haven't evolved far and beyond their original meaning. As if those words have the same impact as actual slurs. jfc, these people are just trying to pat themselves on the back.

Reminds me of the time I saw a person trying to put down someone because they claimed that they were going to start pulling their hair out due to having a busy week. Like, speaking as someone who's had to deal with trich since they were a kid? Sit the fuck down.

I'm a high-functioning crazy person.

I reserve the right to to call the experiences that make my life hell "crazy."

And I reserve the right to call bad rationalizations for prejudice "crazy" as well.
