Notes:

To the anon that wanted warnings on .gif secrets: I'm not sure how I could effectively implement that. For triggery or spoilery secrets, one could just not read the text, but for .gifs by the time you get to the warning, it's already moving in your field of vision. If you have a suggestion as to how it could be done without just linking the secret (it's not breaking any rules or containing porn or gore, so that wouldn't be fair), let me know. Putting it in the notes for now.

16 is a .gif, by the way.

I'm not in Marvel fandom, but I'm with you, OP. Give me a character who is genuinely good, takes responsibility, and actively tries to do the right thing over angsty, 'tudey, ~darque~ antiheroes any day. (Doesn't help that those are the exact characters fandom floods its panties over.)

If you think the former kinds of characters are boring, then you don't know how to write them and/or you haven't been reading or watching the right things, I M H O.

basically I am married to Cecil from FF4 on the astral plane ok

Also Optimus Prime (non-movie-verse).

We're polygamous, we three.

But that's another thing that pisses me off though: why do people think that if you have to "choose" honestly nice good guys "over" angsty dickish antiheroes, or vice versa? Why is is wrong to adore both?

I think the original commenter was just remarking on their preference, not that people "have" to "choose" anyone. I like both, and indeed prefer the darker antiheroes myself, so I understand what you're saying. But I gotta say that it's far more common to see dismissive, petty, and generally baseless dislike towards honestly kind characters than it is towards the dickish antiheroes.
