Does anyone know how to make this go away?

I just recently noticed this happening, but I'm running google chrome, and all of a sudden, random words have turned into links? Or something? And whenever I hover over them, it's an ad, and it sends me to a different page. I tried googling it, but I got too many not-relevant pages (maybe I'm not using the right keywords?) and one relevant page- if I was running internet explorer.

Does anyone know what this is/how to make it go away?

I have yet to try out Chrome, so I can't say for sure -- but, to me, it kinda sounds like you have a malware of some sort. Do you have a decent virus program installed?

I had a similar problem a few months ago.

1. Click on the three horizontal bars in the top right of the window
2. Hove over tools
3. Click on extensions

It should be something named "I Want This" or something similar. Deleting it from extensions should make it go away.

At least that's what I did.

It wasn't "I want this", not to me, but I deleted some things similar, and now it's gone away, so thank you~

It's malware I think -- I had this exact thing briefly on Firefox and got rid of it by disabling the add-on in some procedure, but I unfortunately can't remember the name of the malware or the procedure. But google some of the relevant terms along with malware and see if it comes up.

I had that a while ago, and I can't remember what it was called, but I installed adblock and it went away.
