There was an interesting question in the Snape/Harry secret thread. Is hatesex a thing? Or just a fanfiction trope? Because I'm pretty sure I myself wouldn't "hatesex" anyone x_x Although I don't hate anyone, so, U suppose, I'm not the one to give an expert opinion on the matter.

Well, I know angry!sex is a thing, although I tend to think of that more as like a couple who's been fighting blowing off steam together, rather then two people who actually HATE each other having sex. But I'm sure it's happened.

Not sure if it has anything to do with real life, but as a writer, my own definition of hate!sex is "It's like rape, but everyone involved is willing." It's more about power over the other person than sex, the chance to say, Look what I can do to you, look what I can make you do.

That and it's rather appealing for me as a reader because I'm a kinky fuck so I'm all for the teeth and claws and blood. But I'm not dumb enough to think that's what everyone else who likes it sees in it.
