Well, I'll happily make the assumption that OP thinks three peens is one peen too many. I don't believe slash fans think too deeply about things. so it's probably about the genitals.

Not really. As a former 100 % M/M slash shipper who thought vaginas were icky, I can say that I didn't think too far beyond the genitals involved. A couple of M/F/M threesomes that appealed to me started to cure me of this, however, and now I'm better. But I still don't think most slash fans think beyond genitals, or they wouldn't bash female characters the way they do simply because they're female.

You made a broad statement about "slash fans" based on how you and the people you presumably hung out with acted. We're pointing out that it's ridiculous to make broad assumptions like that (because, you know, it's not like no slash fans are attracted to women in real life). No one has said that there aren't misogynistic slash fans, or slash fans who are interested in genitals. Acting like you have special insight into the minds of everyone who ships slash pairings, however, is silly.

Besides, the logic kind of fails. If the shipper in question is all PEEN PEEN PEEN, why would the addition of a third penis be problematic for them?

Because three peens is too many in their world. It's not really a peen thing, it's a genital thing. I have a really hard time imagining a person who is into threesomes being completely unable to ship M/M/M without there being a genital thing. Because there are plenty of feminine men in fiction who could easily add the F in M/F/M if it's really just a matter of there needing to be a feminine personality to make a threesome work, and if you still can't make it work, ever, without a person with a vagina... well, I just assume it's a genital thing.

I definitely think it's legit to say you want a certain gender dynamic. Besides, you are assuming that OP wouldn't be willing to write M/F/M with a trans woman as the F. OP never said one way or another on that.

Hey, please don't speak for everyone. I'm a former 90% M/M shipper, and it was because 1) I don't really like M/F, 2) the canons I was interested in didn't have very well developed canon M/F relationships, and 3) the canons I was interested in didn't have very well developed female characters. And I'm not very interested in penises.

+1 I wish people wouldn't act like misogyny in fandom only comes from the slash side of the fandom. It's just as bad on the het side, trust me, if you've ever been in any fandom with two or more competing het ships. Het shippers can be just as vicious as any other type of shipper toward any woman that threatens their OTP.
