SAME.
I don't really like sex scenes in my fanfiction or my books but I like it if it's porn or literotica

+1

(Anonymous) 2012-11-04 09:36 pm (UTC)(link)
ugh same. I get so embarrassed when sex pops up in my non-porn reading or viewing material...

(Anonymous) 2012-11-04 09:18 pm (UTC)(link)
My lack of overlap is the other way around - I like sex in fiction, but I don't like it when my porn starts trying to set up a plot.

I mean, if I wanted plot I wouldn't be looking at the PWP tag - that freakin' defeats the PURPOSE of that tag people.

Same

Ever since I started reading fanfiction, sex scenes in original fiction kind of weird me out; they're usually less graphic, but the attempts to make them less graphic are hilarious to me, and I always come away thinking, "I've read better PG13/R rated fics".

(Anonymous) 2012-11-04 10:05 pm (UTC)(link)
But a lot of porn is fiction, at least of a sort.

(Anonymous) 2012-11-04 10:37 pm (UTC)(link)
Same. I always roll my eyes at sex scenes in normal books or movies, especially when they try to be sexy... but I'm fine with the exact same thing in pornfic.

I find porn boring and can only be invested if I care about the people involved, so I prefer sex scenes in fanfiction I guess.

Though the odds of sex scenes in fic or canon actually being any good is pretty hit or miss. Well, more like 99% miss in canon and 5% hit in fanfic...Yeah, sex scenes in canon are pretty much always terrible. :\

Strictly speaking, porn is fiction.

I'm kind of the opposite. I need some story to flesh out my porn and give it context, even if I'm reading for porn on Nifty or Litererotica, I look for the fics that had lots of chapters and have conflict and drama going on as well.

This secret makes me sad

(Anonymous) 2012-11-05 01:14 am (UTC)(link)
The reason I write porn is so I can get away with writing stories that require a lot of sex. I try to make the sex engaging, of course, but I also try to express thoughts and feelings that are typically considered unseemly when not expressed by an award-winning old white man.

OP here

Don't panic, I don't think my opinion is all that common :)

It's okay, I like reading that type of story.

I still don't get why that type of story would require a lot of sex.

Because the powers of the healing cock are wonderous?

(Anonymous) 2012-11-05 04:40 am (UTC)(link)
Same. I skip the sex scenes in everything. They do nothing for me, and I get kind of annoyed when the action stops just so two or more characters can get their freak on.

(Anonymous) 2012-11-05 04:07 pm (UTC)(link)
This. I couldn't be less interested of sex scenes. I have always hated them in movies, books, games, whatever and I hate them in fanfiction too. I even hate them in romance fics. I read shipping fics for the development and tension of a said relationship. As soon as they get to the sex, I lose my interest completely.

If I want smut then I'll go and read an unashamed smut fic which is basically just porn without plot. Tha's the only way I can read sex scenes. Otherwise I feel them as distracting and unnecessary.

OP thinks porn isn't fiction. Snerk.
