I don't see the problem if they're doing it as a joke entry for the schools field that live journal has. It's like putting down an obviously fake fannish location instead of your real location - because you don't want to give away your real location.

SA didn't notice that the image was for facebook... oops... totally different story since Facebook is supposed to be real.

But some people do make facebook accounts under a fake name for certain reasons? Maybe to join...groups or clubs or whatever facebook calls them, or play games or interact with their fandom friends.

I've done so in the past.

Facebook used to be real. Now it's just another online site for people to gossip and chat on. Lots of not real info shoved up on there.

...which actually bothers people who have privacy concerns. For example, I have a friend whose Facebook is under a real-sounding name that is completely different from his own, simply because he doesn't want his real name to be out there.

Yes it's supposed to be real but... does it really matter? Obviously no one is going to look at it and go "wow I guess that's not my friend from high school. They list Hogwarts as their school, not Lincoln High."
