I just really hate posting fic in comments; I always misjudge the wordcount limits, and I like splitting things where they make sense. Also I hate reading fic in comments, but that's my personal opinion.

But I would never delete my fic, even if/when it's terrible.

Comment fic annoys me, and if it's longer than something like 10 comments, I simply won't read it. I definitely don't post that way, and when I do write fic for kink memes or something, I open up a new livejournal account for each fandom so that I never do end up deleting or f-locking things.
