You don't even have to actually troll there; just say something that's reasonable but not in line with the majority's political views and people flip their shit.
There was an article about Larry Ellison's real estate holdings a while back, and someone said, "he comes across as a bit greedy to me, but he's entitled to spend his own money as he likes," and someone replied with what basically amounted to, "GO PROTEST WITH OCCUPY WALL STREET YOU LAZY LEFTIST SCUM," and received, no joke, 20+ recommendations.
I found it was better for my sanity to stop clicking on the "comments" tab.
