I don't think that it NEVER has anything to do with shipping, but to be fair sometimes it... really doesn't.

I'm pretty much aromantic/asexual, but I love shipping. Just because I'm not interested in something for MYSELF, doesn't mean I don't enjoy exploring it within fiction. I am not very interested in porn though. I will read it and look at it if the art/fic is just genuinely really good, but most of the time I'd rather the sex just be implied, pretty vaguely described, fade to black, or I'd rather just see the before/after.

As for attractiveness, I can think that someone is aesthetically pleasing without actually being attracted to them? It's kind of difficult to describe.

Saying that someone's sexual orientation should always match their taste in fiction is just as silly as assuming that everyone who likes an incest pairing is totally crushing on their sibling in real life.

THIS. It's as ridiculous as saying that being someone like apocafic or whump, they want to live in a post-apocalyptic wasteland or they're a sadist who wants to hurt people.

Also I love your icon. It's so pretty :)
