Well, for me I've always felt that it's okay state my opinion as long as I recognize that others don't have to share it and I can be wrong. I've admitted I'm wrong before. It's not a problem for me.

I think I've avoided wank for the most part and I've had discussions in very... wanky(?) topics. I think that's the difference between civil debate and wanky arguments (with troll-like behavior).

I suppose it could be, but in general I interpret it as taking a position and being willing to stick by it. Now, this does not mean that the person in question cannot be swayed by a good argument; it simply means they are not self-conscious about how they feel. And that's cool, in my book.
