It is! It's wrong of me to get so upset about it, though, because even though originally it was rein (because of the horse thing), contextually I think reign would make more sense to a person not familiar with riding terminology. Which, I think, the average person wouldn't be.

BUT ETYMOLOGY. No, but I do get it, I just feel extra special fond of anyone who uses the "right" version (sadly, one of those people is Stephenie Meyer).
