Says someone who doesn't follow femmeslash pairings.

They get homophobic shit, especially if there's a guy in the show people are shipping the women with. See Xena for a classic, and even people crying that Rainbow Dash shouldn't be seen as gay for a recent example (though they'll be more likely to try showing off how totally not homophobic they are these days). Both fandoms have a lot of f/f shippers, but they also have to deal with assholes.

IDK about sonic though. I think it's a guy heavy fandom, and they do create some f/f stuff, but it's sometimes a bit creepy, going by the stuff on /pco/.
