You know, when we got to the part where Bruce Willis (I'm horrible with names and usually don't remember anyone's in a film I've only seen once) meets his future wife, my first thought was that she was flipping him off because he was way too old and a run-down junkie and that was what made him realise his life was shit.

The way it turned out made his motivation more understandable, but damn, she was really nothing more than a motivational prop for him.

The farmhouse storyline was good, I think, but the way Emily Blunt's character was infantilised (though yeah, I've seen a lot worse) was annoying.

I thought the beginning was meant to be really horrible, and to show that these men were really empty shells living empty lives. I have no problem with that (I actually thought that part was really good, and it was interesting seeing JGL play such an unpleasant character). But the way women were excluded speaks of a deeply rooted sexism in Hollywood. It's as if they can't imagine women having certain roles, being remorselessly violent and generally shitty people in the same vein as the male characters in Looper. It's the type of sexism that puts women on a pedestal, but it's still sexism. It's removing the ability to take charge of your own life and active/dominant character traits from women.

I wasn't to bothered by the plot holes, but I rarely am in (one-shot) films (unless they're really big). They're too short, I can imagine there are explanations we don't get to see.
