Please tell them. It was so cringe-worthy to meet weeaboos in Japan and unfortunately I encountered a lot of them. People need to go with realistic expectations to save themselves (and their country) embarrassment and disappointment.

This. I got so much secondhand embarrassment from witnessing weeaboos when I lived in Japan. Not to mention how many people assumed that my reasons for living there were anime related. Way to ruin the reputation of everyone who travels there, weeaboos.

I want to go by myself because I'm terrified of sharing a trip with walking second-hand embarrassment. I'm easily mortified about things.
