Count yourself lucky that your were merely disappointed. When the Japanese go to France some get Paris Syndrome because it doesn't meet their romantic fandom expectations.

Wow, that's actually really fascinating to me.

according to an administrator at the Japanese embassy in France, around twenty Japanese tourists a year are affected by the syndrome.

Is that a typo? Twenty a year doesn't seem like that much. At least not enough to be noticed.

That article is disappointing! It says what the symptoms are, but what do they do? Do they hallucinate their dream Paris, or does it become nightmare city to them?
