I really don't think I can, no. I don't have the words, just a feeling. I'll never know 100% what the person was feeling, even if she told me. I just get the feeling that what the OP left in text was more cold and bitter and rigid than what I'd get from her if we spoke and I said "and what does ____ mean to you?" and if I saw the comments.

I'm saying that I agree with you on the part about it might have been poor wording and I was expanding on why I agreed.

yeah the anon above you is someone else (i made the comment about poor wording) and i do get what you mean. still on a place like f!s it's pretty inevitable to have people bring in their own interpretations so i'm not really surprised something like this is getting mixed opinions. hell, i still have mixed opinions.

Their own interpretations and a lot of defensiveness, too. I made another comment above (or below?) this one about how OP's friends were likely being mean because seeing her picture made them upset and an anon replied accusing me of calling them ugly and jealous. I get how a very defensive reading of my comment could look like I said that, but seriously, how many of us have heard people that we think look perfectly fine say something to the effect of "I wish I was good looking like so-and-so" or pick out one feature about themselves that they think so distracting that it makes them completely unattractive? How many times have we done it ourselves, no matter how other people think we look?
