First off, seconding what pretty much everyone has to say about "wow yeah, it's a real country with real people" and "did you ignore their interesting history?"

But you can definitely find fans of the obscure shows you like, you just need to know where to look. Research beforehand and you'll be fine. Yeah, it's not like every street will have a store dedicated to that show you loved that ran in the 70s or whatever, that should be obvious, but there are definitely places that will at least carry merch for some of the most obscure shows.
