I'm pretty familiar with Boolean Logic and even I hate the advanced search. It isn't just imperfect, it's completely useless on a platform with a free tagging system. If you're looking for something in a large fandom, the advenced search will help you narrow things down, but you're still going to be stuck going through thousands of results that may or may not be relevant. Throw in the way it orders the displayed results and it's no surprise that many people who used the site before May have stopped using it.
