after he knows she was responsible for his troubles, Watanuki tells her he is happy they met. I feel like that was one of XXXholic's best moments.

The real tragedy of the pairing is that the moment they begin to really see each other and start forming a genuine relationship is also the same moment that cements that they can never be together. It was beautiful though; I think the anime made a good choice by ending it on that note.
