You realize this is about as far from your secret as you could get while retaining the "I didn't like visiting Japan," sentiment.

You started the secret off by mentioning anime which implied that was the reason you were dissatisfied. The rest of your secret supported that. It wasn't an afterthought like "I didn't even enjoy the anime!" or something.

That was me.

I'm ESL :( it happens sometimes when I have to write things in very short paragraphs. I didn't want to be tl;dr, so I guess I just made a mess.

no no, I totally see where I made a mistake, and why people misunderstood.
I was just going face-desk when I realized how badly I phrased it.

I suppose it's not so bad for a discussion - there are a lot of weeaboos who do think this way.
I'm just kind of sadface because I wanted to vent my frustrations in a secret and... it didn't really work, because I didn't explain myself right...

Hmm. I think the problem was your secret wasn't fandomy enough and you tried to make it more so? Which lead everyone to think it your disappointment was about anime. Maybe think it over and try the GC someday with wording more like you're using in this thread. You'll probably get more of the responses you want.

And if you ever want to post in GC about your experiences traveling to so many other countries I wouldn't mind! I'd love to live vicariously through you until I can do some traveling of my own. :D

But wouldn't that just seem like I'm bragging? :<
My family saves up a LOT of money just for travel. I've been to 40 states in the USA (including Hawaii), Canada, England-Scotland-Wales, Spain, Italy, Greece, Poland, Hungary, Austria, Singapore, Australia, Korea, and Japan.
I don't mind telling stories, but I don't want to make people feel bad. I think some people who responded very angrily in this thread, it's because they don't have the opportunity and they thought that I was wasting mine.

I meant more like the highlights. Cool things you've noticed, etc. Other people could post as well.

I was just at kind of a loss as you are anon so it's not like you have a journal or could PM?

And in retrospect it was stupidly, stupidly obvious where I messed up.

Plus I speak English as a first language. Two ways if you want to get technical! (Sign language being the second)

I'd like that! If you want sometime I could start a GC thread asking people to tell me about their travels, what they liked, what they didn't. And you could comment, or not.

...I might do that anyway actually.

I think that that kind of GC thread would be cool either way! I'm sure lots of people here have awesome stories to tell.

haha, I guess it can happen to everybody... sometimes you think what you wrote is so clear, but then you realize that nope. It's a mess.
