I'm suspecting you don't actually KNOW what common courtesy IS

First, it has to be common. It's not. Most tags are nonsense. It is a courtesy, but not compulsory. So far you're only 50% correct on it.

Secondly, different tumblrs act in different ways. Some people are very public tumblrs filled with ~~crap~~ fandoms, nsfw or triggering shit. They can tag at will, although it's obviously nice of them to tag nsfw, triggers or spoilers.

alternatively, you can use your courtesy to fuck off and stop telling them what to post or tag on their blog, you controlling horsefucker
