Cloud also isn't Asian. He isn't even from the Asian analogue part of their world, so I don't get the comparison here. Just because the game was made in Japan doesn't mean that Cloud himself is Japanese. He's short enough and slight enough that he can pass for a woman easily (very easily, depending on how you play things) and he was downright tiny as a kid. (Also pudgy; child!Cloud is adorable. That ponytail!) I'm pretty sure he's the shortest human guy in the game that we have known heights for; he's shorter than Sephiroth, Zack, Cid, Barrett, and Vincent.

All of this doesn't mean that he won't fuck your shit right up and he isn't dangerous, deadly, and a major BAMF, naturally.

I kinda want to poke child!Cloud in the tumtum and see if he does the Pillsbury Doughboy giggle. Adult!Cloud sure wouldn't do it.

Also to add that if you line up the action figures, last I checked, Cloud's the shortest dude of the lot.
