So far it looks like the republicans are winning. The news here says they've already gotten some swing states.

... what? That's not at all true... they've gotten some states, but all deep-red ones. No swing states are decided yet.

that might be because of the deep south. it's heavily red, and they're mostly on EST, so their polls close quickly. keep your eyes on the swing states for now, rather than the overall number.

Also, heavily red states tend to close earlier than heavily blue states, because longer voting hours allow more people and especially more working class people to vote. Which tends to be good for Dems and bad for Republicans.

Funny. My state [deep red, btw] stayed open about as long as the rest in my time zone, and most of the working class? Republican.
