Happened to me with FFXIII. I did like the storyline and the gameplay was pretty fun imo, but after a while the grinding got to me. I had to quit for my sanity. (So although I've def done my fair share of grinding in games, and surely will again, I totally understand your feelings toward griding.)
Yea, I don't get bitching at anyone for watching a Let's Play. It seems silly. I don't personally like to do that if I have a chance of playing the game myself, but it's nothing to get angry over.
I just meant watching the very end of a game opposed to the entire thing. Again, maybe that's enjoyable to them, but it just doesn't seem like it would be fulfilling. Then again if they don't care too much about the game, that probably won't bother them.

Yeah, for me personally, losing interest in a game means losing interest in the story, basically. And I don't really enjoy watching others play, but I know there are people who do, so good for them, I guess!

In small bits I find it amusing, but I've never watched an entire game that way. I think I'd get bored. So sometimes I lose interest in actually playing the game for whatever reason, but not the story itself, so I'll stop playing thinking I'll eventually come back and finish it. Sometimes it happens, sometimes it doesn't. Watching is probably the smart thing in that case!

Unfortunately, this probably happens to everyone at some point. :/

I always thought I'd go back and finish FFVIII someday. But now it's been more than twelve years, it probably isn't going to happen, haha. Really, I just didn't like anyone in the game except for Squall, and that was just because he was so amusingly bitchy at everyone.

Has never played FFVIII. >.>no subject
I still love the stories, but games get to me in a way films just can't (books sometimes do, though).
