My reasoning is just fine. 'Main character hooking up with the only girl in the series' trope is enough, frankly speaking.

> misunderstand of the character, regardless of what you ship
If one doesn't like something, it doesn't mean they misunderstand it.

And, as I said, IM2 ruined MCU!Tony for me. When I was walking out of the cinema, I was sure I'll never be interested in this character again. Good times.

nayrt

Nope. That trope is good enough for you not to be interested in the pairing, but it's not remotely a reason to bash the ship or pretend it didn't go through massive character development.

As for your second point, if you don't like the character, that's fine. If it really ruined the character for you despite all subsequent character development, fine. But don't come into fandom trying to criticize people who LIKE MCU-Tony for liking that character and pretending that they're doing it wrong or don't understand what they're talking about, because if IM2 ruined Tony for you, that's your opinion, and you have the right to have an opinon, but MCU-Tony =/= IM2-Tony and the vast majority of people don't share your opinion or your juvenile reasoning for it. At all. Check out the amount of wild fangirling people did over Tony after the Avengers came out opposed to their opinion of him pre-Avengers, if you need proof.
