You are not alone, OP.

It, along with Toy Story and All Dogs Go To Heaven, basically was my childhood, and this was one of my favorite scenes, (maybe even my single favorite scene, tied with the very end), in the whole film, even when I was five years old.

I understood that cat so much.
Even if everything else about her made her meaningless to him, that alone was worth preserving.

(Anonymous) 2012-11-08 02:51 am (UTC)(link)I haven't seen this movie in years upon years. But I remember when it came out; I loved 'An American Tail' and watched it constantly, so I was overcome with joy that there was a sequel and that I might have the chance to see it in the actual theater. And I got to! It was a big thing with my mom and a couple of my aunts and a bunch of my cousins.
I can hardly remember the experience now, because I was all of 6, and nothing out of the ordinary happened (even though I was only 4 when it came out, I have more distinct memories of going to see 'The Little Mermaid,' because Ursula scared the ever-loving crap out of my cousin so we wound up having to leave about halfway through). But I definitely remember the excitement surrounding it.
Ah, childhood! Good times were had by all.
