I know someone who used to live in Australia (as a non-citizen) and she said getting work permits/citizenship there is very hard. I'd love to see all these random cranky people try to move there and find out that, hey, immigration policies don't apply just to Latinos.

I'm not sure which amuses me more: those people or the liberal people saying they're going to come to the UK. (Newsflash: We are not a liberal utopia damn it.)

(Though that said the other day I was hanging out with a friend who within the space of a few minutes described herself as conservative and said that she was shocked that anyone opposes gay marriage and legalised abortion so yeah the definition of 'conservative' is a little different here.)
