Re: What ruined Bleach for some people?

OP here. :)

*As is obvious by my secret, I wish the core cast had included at least Tatsuki, and Keigo and Mizuno would've been nice as well. Not just as cheerleaders, but developing their own powers, and then they could join Ichigo, Chad, Ishida, and Orihime in saving the day (Rukia and Renji welcome as well, but the less seen of the other SS characters, the better, imo {after the SS arc, anyway, which I can freely admit was about as well-done as KT has ever managed}). That's a good-sized main cast with great personality dynamics, not to mention doing a better job balancing out the broody Ichigo with some more light-hearted humor from his friends.

*As someone above said, KT just doesn't know how to do pacing (which is also one of Kishimoto's weaknesses as well). He's got a great premise, some great characters, and some really interesting ideas, but he just doesn't know how to pace himself properly, and he's written in more characters than he knows how to handle. His writing would be stronger with a smaller cast.

*KT also wrote himself into an awful corner with the whole Aizen mess. He pretty much established that it would be impossible for any of the characters to believably beat him on an even playing field, so he was forced to resort to stupid Deus Ex Machinae and Ass Pulls. If he had toned down Aizen, and had the final battle with him be a group effort that used smart strategies (instead of just "hold him off until Ichigo can beat him!"), the end of that arc would have been much more satisfying.

*The Fullbringer arc was a terrible choice for a follow up to the Aizen arc. KT either needed to give himself some breathing room with something more light-hearted, or give some plausible build-up for the current Quincy arc.

*Most of all, I just stopped liking the characters. I don't mind a ton of Ass Pulls and Deus Ex Machinae and stupid plots if I love the characters. But I never cared about any of the SS characters (except Rukia and Renji), and I found it both confusing and frustrating that so many other fans (and even worse, the mangaka) seemed to get so emotionally invested in people that I just didn't find remotely likable. SS was boring; the Arrancar, and even the Vizards were way more interesting.

And I know all of those are really unpopular fandom opinions, which is why I keep it anon because I'm just not willing to deal with fandom's ability to not take every tiny criticism as an unforgivable personal insult. =/
