Well, yeah, there is that tiny little detail.

No, seriously, most vampires in pop culture are the types that try to live alongside humans peacefully. I don't think it's fair to ignore decades of strides towards a healthy human-vampire relationship and just assume the worst.

Yeah, but he is a fantasy creature nonetheless. OP could be less saying, "Don't trust vampires, they automatically want to kill you and drain you dry!" and more, "He's a fantasy creature, he might have different morals/standards/cultural expectations than humans."

Granted, in this specific case he kind of doesn't, but it's plausible.

Hardly any vampires in pop culture try to live alongside humans peacefully. That's a totally new development. Even in Buffy 99.9% of the vampires weren't trying to live alongside humans peacefully, and that show had vampire main characters.
