Sometimes they have flaws... but it's always the same kind of external flaws, usually perception of others. The "they don't appreciate how awesome this person is", or "they are cursed/vampire/sociopathic maniac killers" sort of bullshit.

It doesn't get in the way of their being utterly perfect otherwise. There being unpopular/crazy is generally only because the REST of the world sucks.
