Pretty much this.

As many issues as I have with Twilight (I'm of the Buffy/Angel generation for starters) I can just about deal with it as a bad piece of fantasy fiction with an author who had no experience with Vampires or the genre in general.

Rub the shiny edges off 50 Shades (the money, cars, fancy apartment, hi tech stalking etc) and you have a pretty graphic, realistic description of a horribly abusive relationship where the woman is isolated from her friends and manipulated until she is completely reliant on the man.
