Then don't ever read the books. Ye gods and little fishes, Ian Flemming was a right everything-ist bastard.

Just for the record, I had nothing to do with this secret :D

I really don't thing BBCSherlock's Irene was canon at all.

Honestly, one of the (many many) questions I'd love to ask the makers of Sherlock is "So, are you going to have Irene Adler in your series?" Cuz that woman? Was NOT Irene Adler. Hell, I don't even LIKE canon!Adler all that much, I still feel like the series did her a disservice...

Re: And here's me depressed

(Anonymous) 2012-11-10 12:38 am (UTC)(link)
I understand :/

I try to view it differently and find it hopeful, like if this people can love their bodies maybe one day we can too, you know? *hugs*

(Anonymous) 2012-11-10 12:38 am (UTC)(link)
Looking at that little ZIP commercial thing, it kinda looks like he doesn't have any genitals, so writing porn involving two sets of genitals might be difficult.

(Anonymous) 2012-11-10 12:38 am (UTC)(link)
Please observe both of the other threads associated with this secret.

*long, slow, dispirited sigh*

Apparently adult men hitting teenaged girls isn't "really misogynist" if you put on your sparkly Fangirl Thong, or something.

(Anonymous) 2012-11-10 12:38 am (UTC)(link)
Wow, way to not get the movie.

Re: People fetishizing jobs

(Anonymous) 2012-11-10 12:38 am (UTC)(link)
Actually, in my case, it was a friend who had a fetish for what the priest of my religion wear...and doesn't seem to understand that, while I'm cool with her having that fetish [each to their own], I really don't want to hear about it - and I really, really am not comfortable taking her to services at my church because, by her own admission, it's basically to collect fap fodder.

And yes, I've mentioned I'm not comfortable with hearing/doing that.

OT AS FUCK

(Anonymous) 2012-11-10 12:39 am (UTC)(link)
HAHAHAHA OH GOD OH FUCK

I THOUGHT THIS SECRET WAS ABOUT PRINCESS BUBBLEGUM KILLING HERSELF OR SOMETHING

I seriously studied other elements in the picture to see what other connections to Adventure Time it had, and to try an figure out why she turned into a blob when dying.

I'm so fucking dumb, it's incredible.

Okay carry on.

(Anonymous) 2012-11-10 12:40 am (UTC)(link)
Me too.

Going anon for obvious reasons...

Heh... indeed.

Re: Writing something new?

(Anonymous) 2012-11-10 12:40 am (UTC)(link)
My tip for writing believable fluff is: don't think of it as something weird. They don't have to be floating from one joyous event to the next and having little Eskimo kisses and petting bunnies all the time (unless your assignment specified that it be tooth-rottingly cute). Fluff as I understand it just means light and happy. It can be a PWP too (unless your assignment specified no porn!) It doesn't have to be something too long, does it? Just write about a happy, throwaway moment. A lazy morning in bed where one of them wants to get up and do something but the other just wants to snuggle and make out and keeps dragging them back. Maybe they talk about the angsty stuff currently relevant to your fandom and one of them gets angry about it and the other gets distressed by the intrusion of angst on their one day off and shuts them up with making out. Or write about them cooking together. Or have them babysitting and being terrible at it but thinking the other is cute when they're spoonfeeding the little monster and getting spit up on.

More tips: Don't feel you have to use pet names or the phrase "I love you" if that makes you uncomfortable. Don't try and write comedy if that makes you uncomfortable. Just find a happy moment you're interested in and write about it. I'll be honest, fluff isn't my strong point either so I steer clear of anything that isn't...realistic fluff, but I hope something there helped.

I love hearing that other people appreciate their bodies but I'm the same as you.

Don't feel too bad though OP, everyone has parts of themselves they don't like. It's normal. Plus, I imagine there's something about you that's pretty rad, even if you don't see it.

1. Congratulations on managing a secret that's less than an essay.

2. Beating your girlfriend is way different from losing your shit and cussing out stalkers that have been intruding into your life for years. The former is abuse, the latter is a reaction to abuse.

Re: CLAMP Thread, Part VII

(Anonymous) 2012-11-10 12:41 am (UTC)(link)
True, but Larg was also less annoying, imo, and there are plenty of scenes where you can pretty much ignore Larg [and the girls, really] in the manga without losing anything from the story.

...I kind of want to play this? Is there a version in English?

(Anonymous) 2012-11-10 12:43 am (UTC)(link)
I think it's all him and no armor. An old teaser movie thing showed him burning through his clothes and flying away like that, so I think he's naked.

(Anonymous) 2012-11-10 12:43 am (UTC)(link)
I didn't think that he was gay/bisexual???

I thought he was making a point about what M expected her agents to do, and pushing the issue. "Would you fuck me if it saved you/got the information you want/gave you the oppotunity to kill me? Because she'd expect you to do whatever it takes," sort of thing.

When Bond is completely unfazed by his advances, and say that he's done it before, he drops that line and moves on.

Everything he does is based on his obsession with M and how he felt betrayed and wanted revenge. I honestly didn't get that he was actually attracted to Bond.

Milverton and Violet Hunter are my two favorite characters in Holmes canon.

Re: Still the OP

(Anonymous) 2012-11-10 12:45 am (UTC)(link)
If the censored part was meant to be fuckers, then that was in no way gendered. If you mean the dog like fuckers, not gendered either, since people have been insulted as dogs (not bitches, dogs) since history was recorded. So, where is the gendered stuff? If i missed something (rather late where i am and tired), sorry, but i see nothing of that sort. Seemed to me like someone got fet up with over stalkery fans and flipped his shit, that's all. Doesn't make it ok, especially the way he went about it, but i wish a lot more famous people would draw lines for what's ok behaviour for fans and what not. That can be done without violence, but if someone had to endure some of the stuff they had, i can understand that they reach a point where it's just enough. I would do the same thing if i would be stalked by people, having stuff stolen (not familiar with that promi, i mean in general and it does happen) and beeing unable to go out in public because people (in extreme cases) crowed me, screaming and crying and ripping my clothes apart. All of that happened to famous people and it's not ok, so in some cases i think a fist in the face is certainly justified.

[personal profile] elaminator 2012-11-10 12:45 am (UTC)(link)
Eh, I don't think that's too short a time. If you didn't like him and were getting nothing out of it, why continue? Hell, some people see someone once or twice then decide the chemistry isn't there, so imo you've done more than enough.

(Anonymous) 2012-11-10 12:45 am (UTC)(link)
Yeah, but he's like the Alpha Murderous Douchenozzle?

Re: Socio-economic Class

[personal profile] llei 2012-11-10 12:45 am (UTC)(link)
I have no clue. My mother was a teacher and my dad worked in a factory assembly line. Neither them or any of my grandparents had ever even considered university, but then very few in our town did. We lived in a two-up, two-down and my parents paid a longterm mortgage rather than rent. We never had foreign holidays or pocket money or anything. On the other hand, I went to dance lessons and at Christmas I always got a real Barbie, while some of my friends got cheaper imitation dolls, so relatively speaking we were the posh kids? I now have two higher degrees thanks to scholarships all the way, and am broke and unemployed. I don't know how you fit any of that into a proper bracket...

For me I think it's made a difference to the fandoms I've been in. All my fandoms have been for books or for shows that aired on my countries basic/free stations. I've never been in a fandom where the canon costs more than the price of a few paperbacks or (back in the day) video cassettes to tape it off the telly. And I've never bought any merch. But I don't feel I've particularly missed out?
