Re: The Sims

I originally thought about getting it from a store, but then I checked the 'origin' website and it says that I can download a game as many times as I want and there's also the possibility to save levels on a cloud storage (or use it as a backup for local files)

so I thought: what if I buy it from a store? how can I be sure that nothing gets lost? can I still save stuff online if I buy it from a store?
and there's also a $12 difference of price (which might not be too much for someone, but it means a lot for me)

I know you can still back up the files if you install the hard copy but I'm not sure about the cloud storage...I've never done anything like that. I do know there's a lot of online interaction and you can share individual Sims and lots online, so you could download those later, but their traits and skills would be gone.

I'm guessing the store price is the cheaper of the two? I totally understand $12 being a big difference. Personally, I would go for the cheapest option I could find.

tbh idc much about online interaction: I've played the Sims before (at a friend's place) and realized the characters you get to create, the situations and interactions are somehow inspirational for plots for fics so I'd mainly use it to see how some things would develop or set in action things I've written and just watching them happen.
it might be a stupid reason, I know, but it has actually been helpful.
this is why it's important for me that, if even my laptop decides to kill itself, I can re-download the game (or re-install it) and find a way to start the game again from where I left it

actually, online is cheaper. checked the price online, then went to the store and saw the difference and thought "oh..."

Haha, that's kind of how I use it too...but it usually becomes a timesuck. Actually a LOT of people use them to write stories (I don't know if it's still a thing, but the Legacy Challenge was huge a few years ago).

I don't really interact much anymore either, just to download things...but it's just another way you could possibly back up your creations.
