But considering how not all people are into robots, I can understand how it can bother some people, especially when it's an old character who didn't look quite that robotic before the reboot (even if he did look weird in other ways). I know that I personally find the thought of transformers having sex silly and not sexy at all, even after reading some Tranformers porn.

Honestly, is it so hard for people to slap synthetic dicks and orifices on characters? Like, seriously, if you can build an entire human, I'm sure humanity will have figured out how to use that technology for sexy purposes...

Plus detachable dicks with fancy functions. How is that not awesome? You could even make them self-lubricating. Much more practical in my opinion than self-lubricating assholes.

I thinking writing cyborgs who used to be normal humans trying to figure out how to have sex can be fun. But I don't get robot sex at all. Why would robots even want to have sex? It's not like they have a biologocal urge for it.

Well, sex doesn't need to pleasurable for animals to have a drive to reproduce via it, and sex being pleasurable invites performing it for non-reproduction purposes (which has the potential to waste energy in both the mechanical sense, and in the biological effort it takes to produce sperm sense...), ergo, sex-for-reproduction and sex-for-pleasure presumably have separate purposes at the point in various species' evolution.

Maybe Transformers could be like bonobos minus the sexual reproduction, and use sex as a bonding and violence-defusing mechanism (so clearly all the Autobots and Decepticons need to just have a giant orgy?). Then again, I'm not particularly fond of methods of Transformers of sex that replicate human-like sex, but prefer things like linking systems and sharing energy or data, which makes it largely an intimacy thing (and potentially practical thing), or with tactile stimulation of areas that happen to be sensitive (in a pleasurable way) which makes sense to me, because humans have some erogenous or pleasurable zones that don't really have much to do with sex, and much more to do with being sensitive for other reasons. And a thing that I think would be universal for any lifeform is that if something is pleasurable, they will continue to do it. I mean, you can seriously fuck up rats' motivation to do anything by giving them a button that directly stimulates the pleasure center of their brain.

As far as human-created robots go, I think you need more reasoning for it, since you have to ask "Why did anyone give that functionality to a robot?" but the answer to that is a pretty simple "Because they want to have sex with it." Program your robots with a sex drive, why not? Give them an on-off switch for it even! Deal with the repercussions of whether-or-not your robot would rather keep it on or off.
